5th March 2025: Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasized the crucial role universities play in the development of both Odisha and India. Speaking at a conference with vice-chancellors at Raj Bhavan, he urged academic leaders to foster excellence, implement reforms, and ensure institutions remain centers of knowledge.
The Governor highlighted the importance of effectively implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing timely examinations, swift result publication, and quality research for innovation and societal progress. He also stressed fiscal transparency, urging universities to conduct regular audits, and called for strict measures against rising sexual harassment cases and better cybersecurity awareness.
The conference, attended by senior government officials, also discussed increasing student participation in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and reviewed key academic priorities, including accreditation compliance, research programs, and teacher promotions. The government reaffirmed its commitment to making higher education more dynamic and relevant in Odisha.
