Grand Opening of Neelakantheswar Cricket Tournament as Kumarguda Team Triumphs in the Inaugural Clash

KalyansinghpurApril 08:  The Neelakantheswar Cricket Tournament has been inaugurated at Jilunda in Kalyansinghpur block of Rayagada district.
The event was organized under the leadership of Mandal President Anil Kumar Jadi of Majhiguda, with support from Santosh Tripathy. The tournament was inaugurated by Brajasundar Rath, a functionary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, who attended as the chief guest.
Among the distinguished guests present were Seemanchal Nadimitti, Harihar Mishra, Prabhakar Das, Saroj Nanda, and Niranjan Tripathy, who encouraged the players.
The उद्घाटन match was played between Bandhuguda and Kumarguda teams from Muniguda block. Batting first, the Kumarguda team scored 130 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 12 overs. In response, the Bandhuguda team could not withstand the excellent bowling attack of Kumarguda and were all out for just 80 runs, resulting in their defeat.
A total of 16 teams are participating in this tournament. In today’s match, Kandu Dandasi and Saroj Nanda officiated as umpires.
Local youth of the village actively contributed to the successful organization of the tournament.
