Bhubaneswar, Feb, 18: The Higher Education Department has begun preparations for student admissions for the upcoming academic year 2026-27. The registration process for both undergraduate (UG, “combined three-year” courses) and postgraduate (PG) programs is set to start soon.
To ensure smooth admissions, all examinations up to April 20 and results up to June 1 will be considered. The department has instructed all university registrars and college principals to follow this schedule. Similar to last year, the registration process for both UG and PG programs will begin in advance to prevent any delays in the new academic year.
For PG admissions, the entrance test PG Admission Test-2026 will be conducted in advance. All final-year undergraduate students are required to complete their semester exams by April 30, and the results are to be published by June 1. Additionally, results for all backlog papers will also be released within the same timeline.
Last year, PG admissions covered 49 subjects, and a similar list is expected this year. The state-level SSB (State Selection Board) will conduct the entrance test and declare the results, which will then form the basis for registration.
The main objective of starting the process early is to avoid delays in admissions and ensure that the registration process does not drag on for many days. In previous years, admissions often continued into November due to unfilled seats and prolonged procedures.
