Hard Work Pays Off as Debashish Gand, Son of Poor Farmer, Clears NEET

Raighar,12th Sept 2025:  Debashish Gand, the son of a poor Rishi (farmer) family from Odangi village, under Panchayat No. 3, Kacharapara, in Raighar block of Nabarangpur district, has successfully cleared the NEET examination on his first attempt, securing State Rank 90. His achievement has brought immense joy to his family and the entire region.

According to sources, Debashish Gand, son of Sukalu Gand, has always been passionate about studies since childhood. He dreamt of becoming a doctor and serving the people of his remote region.

Debashish completed his education from Class 1 to 5 at the Hatbharandi Old Sevashram School. He then studied from Class 6 to 10 at Kalinga Adarsha Vidyalaya, Umarkote, where he scored 92% in Class 10, emerging as a topper in Odisha from Kalinga Adarsha School.

Later, he pursued further studies at Jukta Dui, Bhopal, and prepared for the NEET exam. With intense effort and dedication, he cleared NEET on the first attempt.

Debashish has now taken admission for MBBS at Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College, Koraput.

From a young age, he was a brilliant student, dedicating himself day and night to his studies. He has become a role model for his family and the local community.

Debashish aspires to become a good doctor and serve the poor people in remote regions like Raighar.
