Bhubaneswar, Aug 24 [UDN}:The water level in the Hirakud Reservoir has started declining steadily, prompting the authorities to close four more sluice gates. Following the decrease in the inflow and the overall water level of the reservoir, water discharge has now been reduced, with the release continuing through 11 gates. The authorities are closely monitoring the reservoir’s water level, inflow and outflow conditions and are regulating the gates accordingly to maintain a safe and balanced water level. The controlled release of water through the remaining 11 gates is being carried out in accordance with the prevailing hydrological situation.
