Kotpad, Feb 2: On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, the Home Guards of Kotpad were felicitated in recognition of their dedicated service. The event was attended by Kotpad विधायक Rupu Bhatra, MP’s representative Rameshwar Jena, former police official Sunani, Bharat Media Association President Ajay Kumar Mishra, along with media representatives and journalist Bhawani Padhy.
All Home Guards and Gram Rakshis (village defense personnel) of Kotpad Police Station were honored with mementoes and shields for their committed service. The program particularly acknowledged their tireless efforts in maintaining law and order, performing traffic duties day and night at busy junctions such as Sumi Chowk, and continuously serving the public.
Among those specially felicitated were Home Guards Pramod Kumar Nayak, Tripati Bishoi, Kahu Charan Nayak, Sandeep Bhuyan, and Gram Rakshi Subash Kumar Nayak, along with other police personnel present on the occasion.
MLA Rupu Bhatra highly appreciated the Bharat Media Association for organizing such a commendable felicitation program and praised their spirit of social service. He encouraged them to continue organizing similar events in the future.
The initiative by journalists to honor the Home Guard personnel was widely appreciated by intellectuals and various sections of society in Kotpad.
