Humanitarian Gesture: Councillor and Team Conduct Final Rites of Destitute Man in Absence of Family Members

Nabarangpur:Mar, 23: After hearing about the death of a  oor and helpless man, G. Mohan Rao (56) of Darubandha Sahi in Nabarangpur town, Ward No. 10 Councillor A. Satish, along with social workers Sanuj Tripathy, Bulu Mohapatra, and Babulu Mohapatra, came forward to perform his last rites.
Rao had no family members. Local residents had been helping him earlier by providing food and other assistance. He passed away yesterday at around 6 PM at his rented house in Darubandha.
After informing the police station about his death, Councillor Satish, Sanuj Tripathy, and Bulu Mohapatra arranged an ambulance from the Tractor Association and made the necessary arrangements for the cremation. His mortal remains were taken by ambulance to the Indravati cremation ground, where the last rites were performed.
Ward No. 9 Councillor Alekh Soura, Sanuj Tripathy, Rajesh Panda, Badal Nayak, and others were present during the cremation.
The residents and intellectuals of the town have praised their humanitarian gesture in extending a helping hand for the cremation of a poor and helpless person.
