Innovative Learning: Baraguda School Uses Wall Writings to Enhance Teaching

Jharigaon, Dec, 03:  The authorities of Baraguda Government Upper Primary School under Jharigaon Block in Nabarangpur district have taken an innovative step to enhance student learning. On the wall of a house located at the far end of the village, they have written basic language and numeracy content, which is helping both students and elderly villagers in learning.

According to the school’s Headmaster Gangadhar Pal, around 30 students from the lower hamlet (Talasaahi) attend Baraguda for schooling. After school hours, many students tend to spend time playing and often neglect their studies. To ensure that children continue learning even while playing, Odia alphabets (vowels and consonants) and numbers from 1 to 100 have been written on the wall of the house belonging to Mati Jani of Talasaahi.

This creative idea is proving helpful not only for students but also for villagers. The headmaster added that with the Nav Bharat Literacy Campaign currently underway, this initiative will particularly benefit learners above 15 years of age.

Local residents have welcomed this step and praised it as a commendable effort.
