Bhubaneswar, 4th Aug 2025: An Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub will be established in Odisha through a collaboration between the Electronics & Information Technology Department and the Higher Education Department, along with Singapore-based Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN).
The inauguration of this world-class digital talent hub will take place on August 21, as announced during a program organized at the auditorium of Krushi Bhawan on Thursday.
Providing details about this initiative, Electronics and IT Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling stated that as the digital skills of Odisha’s youth increase, the state’s economy will grow stronger.

The state government is giving priority to skilling Odisha’s youth in collaboration with the National University of Singapore. The aim is to prepare the youth to participate in the global digital economy, estimated to be worth $1.8 trillion. This step will not only enhance Odisha’s role as a global digital talent hub but also help in strengthening the state’s GDP, the Minister said.
Higher Education Minister Surya Banshi Suraj added that the state government is placing special emphasis on technology-based education. The government is committed to building talent through technological support, and these innovations will play a crucial role in boosting Odisha’s economy in the coming days.
Delivering the welcome address was Principal Secretary of the Electronics and IT Department, Vishal Dev, while the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Arvind Agrawal, extended the vote of thanks.
Joining virtually, GFTN Group CEO Sopnendu Mohanty and GFTN Forums Co-CEO James Boey shared further details about the project.
