Malkangiri/Mathili, Oct 17 [UDN}: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) organised a Jana Samparka Padyatra (public outreach march) at Kang Hatapada under Zilla Parishad Zone-1 of Mathili Block in Malkangiri district, under the leadership of Mathili Block BJD president Sada Shiva Pujari. The programme was organised in accordance with the directions of BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik and under the supervision of Malkangiri district BJD president Manas Madkami.
The public outreach march witnessed the participation of senior party leaders, elected representatives, women’s wing members, youth leaders, sarpanches, panchayat samiti members and more than 2,000 people from the area.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Manas Madkami, former MLA, Malkangiri district BJD president, State vice-president of the party’s Tribal Cell and senior spokesperson, said that the Biju Janata Dal believes in public service and development. He highlighted the development initiatives undertaken during the previous BJD government in Odisha and asserted that the state had emerged as a model for development across the country under Naveen Patnaik’s leadership.
Criticising the BJP-led double-engine government in Odisha, Madkami alleged that the state’s image had deteriorated during its two-and-a-half years in power. He urged party workers and leaders to strengthen their engagement with the public and inform people at the grassroots level about what he described as the failures of the present government.
He called upon BJD workers to take the party’s message from door to door, raise public awareness about government policies and performance, and maintain close contact with people in villages and rural communities. He emphasised that the Jana Samparka Padyatra would serve as an important platform to connect with the public, understand local issues and reinforce the party’s commitment to development and public welfare.
Several prominent leaders and elected representatives attended the programme as distinguished guests. Among them were Zilla Parishad chairperson and district Biju Mahila Janata Dal president Samari Tangul; Zilla Parishad member and State general secretary of the Biju Mahila Janata Dal Laxmipriya Inanayak; district Minority Cell president Rajendra Khasla; district youth president Srinibas Muduli; BJD district vice-president Uday Nath Madri; district Biju Mahila Janata Dal vice-president and Meka sarpanch Ranjita Pujari; district Biju Mahila Janata Dal general secretary Lata Bisoi; and Zilla Parishad member Sasmita.

Sarpanches, panchayat samiti members and other elected representatives from different areas of the block joined the march alongside party workers and supporters. The large turnout reflected the participation of local residents in the party’s public outreach initiative.
The programme focused on strengthening the party’s organisational presence at the grassroots level, highlighting the BJD’s development agenda and encouraging greater interaction between party leaders and the public. The event concluded with a renewed appeal to party workers to remain connected with people and communicate the party’s views on governance and development across Mathili Block.
