Jharsuguda,March, 3: Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, UltraTech Cement Works near Dhutra in Arda Panchayat of Kirmira Block, Jharsuguda district, distributed musical instruments to women of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the Dhutra area.
The program was organized under the Women Entrepreneurship Development initiative. On this occasion, Human Resources Officer Pitambar Praseth and Development Officer Semion Barik of UltraTech Cement handed over drums, mridanga, portable sound systems, and other musical instruments to the Dhutra SHG members.
The SHG women expressed that this initiative will help them become self-reliant and enable them to organize health awareness camps, street plays, and various social awareness programs in rural areas. Through street theatre, they plan to raise awareness on issues such as cleanliness, nutrition, women empowerment, and education.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Praseth stated that the UltraTech company at Dhutra is always committed to the overall development of the local area. He emphasized that empowering women and increasing social awareness are the primary objectives of such initiatives.
The distribution of musical instruments will create new economic opportunities for the women’s groups and help bring positive change to society. Development Officer Mr. Barik further informed that UltraTech Cement Jharsuguda will continue to organize such programs for women empowerment and social development in the future.
