Bhubaneswar, Aug 11 [UDN}:A review meeting on the progress and development of coffee cultivation in Koraput district was held under the chairmanship of the Koraput District Collector. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the current status of coffee cultivation, the progress of plantations, and various initiatives being undertaken to promote and expand coffee farming across the district.
The meeting focused on assessing the progress achieved so far, identifying challenges faced by coffee growers, and discussing measures to further strengthen coffee cultivation. Officials concerned reviewed various aspects related to plantation development, farmer support, production, productivity, and the overall development of the coffee sector in the district.
The District Collector emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among the concerned departments and stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of coffee cultivation programmes. The meeting also discussed ways to encourage more farmers to take up coffee cultivation and to provide them with the necessary technical guidance, support, and other facilities.
The officials were directed to closely monitor the progress of coffee plantations and take appropriate steps to address the problems faced by farmers. Emphasis was also placed on improving productivity and ensuring that coffee growers receive the benefits of various government initiatives.
Koraput has significant potential for coffee cultivation due to its favourable climatic and geographical conditions. The district administration is therefore focusing on promoting coffee farming as an important source of livelihood and income for local farmers. The review meeting was aimed at giving further momentum to these efforts and ensuring the sustainable growth of coffee cultivation in the district.
