Kotpad, Jan, 21: A bird census was conducted in the Kotpad region today. The counting was carried out under the leadership of Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Amit Nayak of the Jeypore Forest Division.
The census was conducted at Damayanti Sagar and Diwan Munda pond, along with other water bodies in the Kotpad area. Forest department officials and staff participated in counting the birds at these locations.
During this year’s census, birds belonging to about 90 different species were recorded, along with a large total number of birds.
At the time of the bird census, Kotpad Forest Department staff including Forester Mihir Kumar Pradhan and Sudipta Nayak, along with all forest guards, were present and actively took part in the exercise.
