Literary Event Marks Release of “Kotpad in the Mirror of History” Documenting the Past of Kotpad

Kotpad,April 03:  On the occasion of the प्रसिद्ध Ghata Yatra of Kotpad, a book compilation titled “Kotpad in the Mirror of History” was officially released. The publisher of the book is cine actor Prakash Mahanti, and it has been edited by him along with Dr. Rajat Kumar Sadangi.
At the release समारोह, MLA Rupu Bhatra attended as the chief guest. Advocate Maniprasad Pattnaik presided over the function, while researcher Sriranga Nayak was the chief speaker. Other distinguished speakers included Dr. Bijay Kumar Mishra from Nabarangpur and Dr. Sadangi. Among the honored guests were noted blood donation promoter and advocate Pankaj Patra, and gynecologist Dr. Braja Kishore Brahma.
In their speeches, Dr. Mishra, Sriranga Nayak, and Dr. Sadangi highlighted the historical significance and ancient heritage of Kotpad. They spoke about the संभावना of Kotpad once being the capital of the Odra kingdom and Chitrakote kingdom, along with references to notable personalities from the region.
President Maniprasad Pattnaik stated that the book would serve as an example and inspiration for future generations. Chief guest Rupu Bhatra praised the land of Kotpad and expressed pride in such efforts, noting that the book would narrate the rich history of the region.
The program was conducted by playwright Chandrasekhar Das and Prakash Mahanti. On this occasion, Vaishnavi Behera from Jeypore captivated the audience with a graceful dance performance. Guests and dignitaries were honored with certificates by the Damayanti Kala Parishad.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the publisher, Prakash Mahanti.
