Maa Patakhanda in Sevati Besha Draws Thousands of Devotees for Special Puja and Ceremonial Worship

Baliguda, March23 :  The second Tuesday Yatra of the month of Chaitra was celebrated at the shrine of Maa Patakhanda, the presiding deity of the Baliguda region in Kandhamal district.
On this occasion, Maa Patakhanda 3before devotees in the rare and sacred Sevati Besha (special floral adornment) on the second Tuesday of Chaitra. Devotees not only from across Kandhamal district but also from various parts of the state gathered to seek her blessings.
From early morning, rituals and worship were performed as per traditional customs. From dawn till late at night, a large number of devotees thronged the temple to witness the rare Sevati attire of the Goddess. All devotees had orderly darshan and received her blessings.
Some devotees were also seen performing the traditional head-shaving (mundan) ceremony of their children during the Yatra.
The temple management committee distributed prasad and pana (a traditional festive drink) among the devotees. All committee members and priests were present and actively assisted in the smooth management of the event.
