Mahapatra Takes Over as Acting Chairman of Western Odisha Development Council

Bhubaneswar, Feb, 9:  The much-discussed post of Chairman of the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) has finally been filled. Senior IAS officer Sangram Keshari Mahapatra formally assumed charge as the In-Charge Chairman of the Council on Friday. On his arrival at the Council’s headquarters in Bhubaneswar, he was accorded a warm welcome by the officers and staff of the Council.

Key Administrative Responsibilities

Mr. Mahapatra is currently holding several important positions in the state administration:
He is serving as the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Southern Division.
He has also been given additional charge as the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Northern Division.
Following a major administrative reshuffle at the state level, he has now been entrusted with the responsibility of Chairman of the WODC.
Call for a Developed Odisha
After assuming office, Mr. Mahapatra reviewed various programmes and developmental schemes of the Council. He directed all officials and staff to work collectively with dedication to achieve the Council’s common goals. He expressed that in the coming days, the functioning of the Council would be made more people-centric and that it would play a significant role in realizing the government’s vision of a “Developed Odisha.”
The new appointment is being considered highly significant for accelerating the pace of development in Western Odisha.
