Majhighariani Temple to Host Nabakalebara, Rs 36 Crore Upgrade Announced

Rayagada., 1st Sept 2025: A project worth Rs 36 crore has been initiated for the Nabakalebara (renovation and redevelopment) of the temple of Goddess Majhighariani, the presiding deity of Rayagada.

The renovation work will be undertaken by Kashi Kanchana Construction Company.

An amount of Rs 26 crore has already been credited to the temple trust’s account as part of the sanctioned grant.

The company has informed that the entire work is targeted to be completed within 18 months.

New Facilities Planned in the Temple Premises:

Construction of three entry gates, guest house, tonsure (mundan) hall, rest rooms, toilets, and parking facilities.

Inside the temple premises, there will be 26 stalls, and on the second floor, the temple trust office will be established.

Tonsure Centre: The first floor will accommodate 50 people, while the upper floor can serve 250 people at a time for tonsuring services.
