Malkangiri, 8th Aug 2025: Free eye check-ups along with distribution of medicines were conducted for students across various schools in the district. Arrangements have also been made for surgeries and the provision of spectacles.
At the local Government Nodal High School, vision screening was conducted for 116 students under the Surendra Sahe Divyadrusti Yojana. The camp saw the presence of RDSE Director Haribandhu Deshinayak, BEO Rabindranath Dhar, Dr. Durgaprasad Raj, BRCC Gauranga Sajan, BRT Satyabhama Mahara Harana, social worker Randhakar Dash, CRCC Manas Ranjan Mahapatra, and the headmistress, among others.
The district coordinator of the Divyadrusti program, Rashmiranjan Dash, and DIOC eye specialist Dr. Meeraika Mahapatra coordinated the camp.
Spectacles will be arranged for 38 students, and 10 students will be sent to the LV Prasad Eye Institute in Bhubaneswar for surgery, according to the information provided.
