Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond Participates in Swachh Bharat Cleanliness Campaign in Umerkote

Umerkote, Oct 5 [UDN}:As part of the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat Mission was organised at the New Bus Stand in Umerkote town of Nabarangpur district on Wednesday.

Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond participated in the cleanliness programme and personally engaged in shramdaan (voluntary labour). Along with BJP leaders and workers, the Minister cleaned the bus stand premises and removed accumulated waste. The programme also focused on creating awareness among the public about maintaining cleanliness and protecting the environment.

Among those present were BJP State Vice-President Ramesh Chandra Sahu, Ashok Padhi, District General Secretary Suresh Acharya, Mandal President Santosh Sharma, General Secretary Prabhat Nayak, Milu, Ram Nayak, Dukhallu Meher, Pradeep Mishra, Dilip Biswas, Haraprasad Panigrahi, Ram Gond, Abhiram, Amit Haldar, Ashok Sahu, Simanchal Bishayi, Kumar Rao and Ramesh Das.

Several women workers from the district Mahila Morcha, including Mandira Nayak, Minati Paital and Archana Mandal, also took part in the cleanliness activity.

Organisers said that increasing public awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection is one of the key objectives of the campaign. Minister Gond said the cleanliness campaign, which began on September 17, would continue until October 17.

He appealed to citizens to actively fulfil their responsibilities towards building cleaner towns and villages and make cleanliness an integral part of their daily lives.
