Malkangiri , Feb, 12:A district-level job fair was organized at the Malkangiri Block ground under the joint auspices of the District Skill Development and Employment Office and the district administration.
District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay attended the event as the chief guest and inaugurated the programme. Among others present were Forest Officer of Kenduleaf Division, Jeypore, Uma Mahesh; ACF of Kenduleaf Division, Jeypore, Dr. Shyama Bharati; Project Administrator of ITDA, Haldhar Sabara; District Welfare Officer Srinivas Achari; Vice-Chairman of Malkangiri Panchayat Samiti Niranjan Haldar; and representative of the Malkangiri विधायक (MLA) Jagadananda Wanakdadas.
On this occasion, the District Collector advised the aspirants not to merely run after jobs based only on academic qualifications, but to focus on skill development, communication skills, and time management, and to strengthen their self-confidence. He encouraged them to develop skills in fields of their interest.
Other guests also urged the youth of the district to showcase their talents effectively before recruiting agencies, undergo proper training, and become a source of inspiration for others. They further encouraged them not to waste time solely in search of jobs but to consider self-employment ventures and create employment opportunities for others.
Around 2,012 youths from various blocks of the district participated in the job fair. Various recruiting agencies directly issued appointment letters to 154 unemployed youths.
At the end of the programme, District Skill Development and Employment Officer Gupta Madhi delivered the vote of thanks. Saroj Pattnaik assisted in conducting the programme.
