Bhubaneswar, March 3: Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) organized a half marathon on Sunday at Kalinga Stadium to mark Coal India’s 50th anniversary. The event attracted over 5,600 participants, including professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
The marathon featured various categories, including a 21 km half marathon, 10 km run, 5 km run, and a fun run. Olympian Saina Nehwal, the event’s brand ambassador, praised the city’s enthusiasm for fitness.
Lili Das from West Bengal won the women’s half marathon, and Prince Kumar from Uttar Pradesh won the men’s category. A total of ₹45.34 lakh in prize money was awarded to winners across different categories.
