Nabarangpur,2nd Aug 2025: A preparatory meeting was held today at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall in Nabarangpur under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain to plan for the 79th Independence Day Celebration – 2025.
Key attendees included:
- Tapan Kumar Khuntia – Additional District Magistrate (General)
- Biswajit Barman – Additional District Magistrate (Revenue)
- Biranchi Narayan Darobaan – Chief Development Officer, Zilla Parishad
- Aditya Sen – Additional SP
- Prakash Kumar Mishra – Sub-Collector
- Representative of Nabarangpur MLA, A. Suresh
- Officers from various educational institutions, departments involved in the celebration, local intellectuals, and media representatives.
- District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Behera presented the detailed program plan.
Event Schedule:
- 4:30 AM: Ramdhun performance by the Information & Public Relations Department
- 7:00 AM: Garlanding of statues of freedom fighters in the town
- 7:30 AM: Flag hoisting in all government and private institutions
- 9:15 AM:
- Main ceremony at the stadium
- National Flag hoisting by the Chief Guest
- Parade salute and official address
- Preparations to be Ensured:
- Barricading, tent and seating arrangements
- Road and drain cleaning, cleaning of statue sites
- Traffic regulation, law & order, parade rehearsal
- Distribution of fruits and sweets
- Competitions, fire safety, drinking water
- First aid, ambulance services
- Temporary electricity, toilets
- Cultural programs and award distribution
- Felicitation of outstanding government employees
Responsibilities Assigned To:
- Municipality, Health Department, Police, Horticulture, PHD, Supply Department, Education, Social Welfare, Transport, Tribal Welfare, Agriculture, Culture, Information & Public Relations, among others.
Parade Participation:
- 27 platoons from various schools and colleges will participate.
- Parade rehearsals will be held at Nabarangpur Stadium on August 11, 12, and 13 at 8:00 AM.
- The District Collector emphasized that all departments must fulfill their assigned duties diligently and expressed hope that the Independence Day celebration would be conducted peacefully and grandly with everyone’s cooperation.
- The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the D.I.P.R.O.
