Nabarangpur, 10th Sept 2025: – The District-level International Literacy Day was celebrated today at the auditorium of the District Education Office, organized by the district education department.
The program was held under the chairmanship of District Education Officer (DEO) Chhatrapati Sahu. Hon’ble MLA of Nabarangpur, Shri Gairishankar Majhi, attended as the Chief Guest.

Manoj Behera, District Information & Public Relations Officer
Dr. Omkar Pattnaik, Vice-Chairman of the Institute of Education & Teachers’ Training
Chittaranjan Pattnaik, District Science Supervisor
Keshab Meher, Additional DEO, who also introduced the objectives of the event.
Key Highlights from the Program:
Shri Gairishankar Majhi called for collective efforts to eradicate illiteracy from the district and urged all stakeholders to work with sincerity to raise the literacy rate.
He appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the District Education Department to improve education in the region.
ADM Khuntia emphasized the vital role of teachers in raising literacy levels.
DIPRO Manoj Behera stated that higher literacy rates would lead to social and economic development, promote self-employment, and boost skill development.
The DEO encouraged teachers to go door-to-door, raise awareness about the importance of literacy, and help neo-literates benefit from government schemes through informed participation.
