Bhadrak,Aug 12 [UDN}: Bhadrak district observed the National Deworming Day – August Round 2026, with the objective of protecting children and adolescents from worm infections and ensuring their healthy growth and a brighter future.
A special programme was organised by the District Health Society, Bhadrak, at the premises of Rajgharpokhari Gram Panchayat High School under Basudevpur Block. The District Collector, Bhadrak, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the campaign.
Organised with the message “Healthy Children, Brighter Future,” the campaign focuses on reducing worm infections among children and adolescents while promoting better health, nutrition and physical development. Regular deworming is an important public-health intervention as intestinal worm infections can affect children’s nutritional status, overall well-being, growth and their ability to participate effectively in education and daily activities.
As part of the campaign, eligible children are being encouraged to take the prescribed deworming medicine under the guidance of parents, teachers, Anganwadi workers and health personnel. The initiative seeks to ensure that children receive the necessary preventive care and remain protected from the adverse effects associated with worm infestation.
The district administration has appealed to parents, teachers, Anganwadi workers and health workers across Bhadrak district to extend their full cooperation and actively participate in the campaign. Their collective support will help ensure that all eligible children receive the scheduled deworming medicine and that the campaign achieves its intended public-health goals.
The National Deworming Day initiative represents an important step towards building a healthier younger generation, strengthening child nutrition and supporting the long-term physical and educational development of children across Bhadrak district.
