Odia Cuisine Shines at PBD 2025 with Millet and Traditional Dishes

10th January 2025: At the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) 2025 in Bhubaneswar, delegates from around the world are enjoying the rich flavors of Odia cuisine. Traditional dishes like Dalma, Saga Muga, and Chhenapoda have been a hit, with many guests praising their unique taste and moderate spice. Millet-based dishes, reflecting a global shift towards healthier food choices, have also impressed attendees, who are discovering the goodness of this nutritious grain for the first time.

The food, prepared by a team of over 1,500 chefs, is being served to around 10,000 guests over the course of the event. Special dishes have been arranged for VVIPs, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

In addition to the culinary offerings, the ongoing food and flower festivals at the PBD venue have provided a vibrant backdrop, showcasing Odisha’s cultural richness. These festivals, filled with local flavors and colorful displays, have become an attraction in themselves, adding to the overall charm of the event and giving a global audience a taste of Odisha’s heritage.
