As part of the celebration, the Chief Minister announced significant financial support under the Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana. Nearly 3 lakh dairy farmers across the state will receive ₹71 crore in assistance, while 77 registered gaushalas (cattle shelters) will be provided ₹10.5 crore to help protect and care for stray and abandoned cattle.
In a major boost to dairy production, the Chief Minister also declared that OMFED milk producers will now receive an increased procurement price of ₹3 per litre, directly benefiting thousands of farmers. Additionally, OMFED-affiliated farmers will now be eligible for an accidental death compensation of ₹1 lakh, further ensuring their social security.
These steps reflect the Odisha government’s dedicated efforts to strengthen the dairy sector, improve rural livelihoods, and support animal welfare. The Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana is poised to make a meaningful impact on the lives of dairy farmers and promote sustainable livestock development across the state.
