Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: The Odisha government has given the green light to seven renewable energy projects worth ₹1,386.09 crore, aiming to strengthen the state’s sustainable energy infrastructure. The projects, approved by the state’s Single-Window Committee (SWC) led by Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, will collectively add 192.41 MW of power capacity.
The approved projects include a 99 MW wind energy initiative, five solar projects totaling 91.77 MW, and a 1.64 MW rooftop solar installation. These projects are expected to capitalize on Odisha’s natural resources and contribute significantly to the state’s renewable energy goals as outlined in the Odisha Renewable Energy Policy-2022.
In his statement, Dev emphasized the importance of renewable energy in driving sustainable economic growth and reiterated the state government’s commitment to facilitating investment and ensuring the timely implementation of these projects.
To date, the SWC has approved renewable energy investment proposals amounting to ₹9,781.47 crore, which will generate a total of 1,441.79 MW of clean energy.
