Odisha Introduces New Color Code for Government School Buildings

Bhubaneswar, March 6: The Odisha government has announced a new color scheme for all government-run school buildings, including PM SHRI Schools. In a directive issued by the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA), all district authorities have been instructed to repaint school buildings in shades of ‘Orange Frost’ with ‘Orange Tan’ borders.

This change, which applies to both new constructions and renovation projects, aims to create uniformity across the state’s educational infrastructure. The directive, signed by OSEPA’s State Project Director, Ananya Das, overrides any previous instructions regarding school building colors.

The move follows last October’s decision to update the school uniforms for students in Classes IX and X, which introduced a blend of light brown, chocolate, and clay-baked yellow. This initiative is part of the state’s broader effort to modernize its educational environment under the Mukhyamantri Chhatra Suraksha Yojana.
