Odisha Launches Lakhpati Didi Sahayika Yojana for Women’s Empowerment

 On February 14, Odisha’s Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled the ‘Lakhpati Didi Sahayika Yojana,’ aimed at supporting women working as community support staff. The scheme will cover their wages temporarily and provide financial assistance to Gram Panchayat Federations, benefiting over 62,000 women starting in April 2024.

CM Mr. Majhi also highlighted the ‘Lakhpati Didi Yojana,’ which aims to help women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) earn ₹1 lakh annually, with a target of creating 25 lakh ‘Lakhpati Didis’ by 2027. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment in Odisha.
