Modi’s U.S. Visit: Focusing on a Developed India

15th February 2025: During his two-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s vision of becoming a developed nation. He held important talks with U.S. President Donald Trump on various matters, including trade tariffs, the successful extradition of terrorist Tahbur Rana, and a crucial defense deal involving the F-35 stealth fighter jets.

Modi set a target to increase bilateral trade between India and the U.S. to $500 billion by 2030. Discussions also revolved around enhancing military cooperation and strengthening the India-U.S. relationship, particularly in maintaining peace in the Indo-Pacific region. Modi praised the U.S. decision to extradite Rana, who was linked to the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

In addition, President Trump expressed willingness to mediate between India and China over their border tensions. Both leaders emphasized deepening cooperation in trade and defense to strengthen their strategic alliance. Modi’s visit is expected to enhance India’s global presence and accelerate the growth of Indo-U.S. ties.
