Odisha Members of Parliament Hold High-Level Meeting with Ashwini Vaishnaw, Raise Demands for New Trains and Track Expansion

Bhubaneswar, Mar, 27:  A delegation of Odisha MPs met the Union Railway Minister, led by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
They requested the allotment of land lying under RECA (Railway Employees Cultural Association) in Kharagpur.
The land, located in the New Settlement area of Kharagpur, measures 5,915 square meters.
They appealed for a solution to the long-pending land allotment issue.
The request is to allot the land in the name of RECA (Railway Employees Cultural Association).
Back in 1999, Odisha MPs had written to the then Prime Minister regarding this.
Even the late Union Minister Dr. Debendra Pradhan had requested allotment of this land.
Earlier, the late Dr. Debendra Pradhan had also appealed to former Railway Ministers.
Since 1989, RECA has been promoting Odia culture among railway employees.
Delays in land allotment are hindering development-oriented activities of the association.
A permanent solution would especially benefit railway employees.
Employees residing in Kharagpur would gain particular advantages from this.
They appealed that this matter be treated as an ‘independent case’ and intervention be made.
