Odisha Sahitya Akademi, Kabi Krushnachandra Library Organize State-Level Tribute to Paika Poet

Bhubaneswar,  Jan, 24:  The privilege of attending the state-level birth anniversary celebration of Paika poet Krushnachandra Tripathy, organized jointly by the Odisha Sahitya Akademi, Bhubaneswar, and Kabi Krushnachandra Library, Bhimpur. The event was held at the premises of Banambar Government High School in Bhimpur under Banpur Block.

Be it the Paika Rebellion against the British or Mahatma Gandhi’s Non-Cooperation Movement, the contribution of the brave sons of Odisha and the Odia soil has been unparalleled in every sphere. In the post-Independence era, several literary figures enriched Odia literature through stories, poems, plays, and novels to build a healthy society, bring social reforms, and highlight the sufferings of the neglected and oppressed sections of society. Among them, poet Krushnachandra was one of the most prominent.

The soil of Banpur is a fertile ground for literary creation. With the spread of education comes the development of society. The teacher within Paika poet Krushnachandra Tripathy was the true inspiration behind his poetic creations aimed at social reform. Preserving and carrying forward the legacy of poet Krushnachandra’s work is the call of the day.

The programme was attended by many distinguished personalities, including former Head of the Department of Odia Language and Literature, Utkal University, Professor Dr. Bijay Kumar Satpathy; retired Deputy Secretary of the Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Department, Government of Odisha, and playwright Shri Subas Chandra Mahapatra; Banpur Block Chairman Shri Amarendra Ransingh; District BJP General Secretary Shri Dushmanta Harichandan; Sarpanch of Galua Gram Panchayat Shri Suresh Chandra Bariki; President of Chilika Sahitya Samaj Shri Balamukunda Das; Headmaster of Banambar Government High School Shri Radhakrushna Gadnayak; retired Principal of Grameen Mahila Mahavidyalaya and President of Krushnachandra Library Professor Sangram Keshari Sahu; Secretary of Krushnachandra Library Dr. Chand Kishore Tripathy; and several other eminent personalities.
