Bhubaneswar, May 7: Odisha has joined the nationwide Civil Defence Mock Drill today, reinforcing its commitment to emergency preparedness and grassroots resilience. This coordinated exercise, involving district administrations, Civil Defence Wardens, Home Guards, NCC, NSS, NYKS members, and students, aims to improve disaster response capabilities across the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi encouraged active participation from all stakeholders, stressing that community involvement is crucial in building a disaster-resilient Odisha. The mock drill serves as a platform to enhance coordination among various response teams and instill awareness at the local level.
In another development resonating across the nation, India has executed a powerful military response under the codename ‘Operation Sindoor’, targeting terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This precise midnight operation was launched in retaliation to the brutal April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where civilians were tragically killed in front of their families.
The Indian Armed Forces used advanced strike capabilities, including BrahMos missiles, to eliminate multiple terror camps across nine locations. The bold move has been widely praised as a testament to India’s unwavering stance against terrorism.
Reacting to the operation, Chief Minister Majhi expressed his support on social media, stating, “India stands united. We salute our courageous Armed Forces. Every action against terrorism reinforces our message — threats to our sovereignty will never be tolerated.”
As Odisha strengthens its internal readiness through civil defence initiatives, the nation simultaneously stands firm on external threats, reflecting a unified vision of safety, sovereignty, and resilience.
