Kalyansinghpur, Dec, 15:: In Rayagada, a one-day district-level training program was organized on the Prevention of Sexual Offenses Act, 1961, aimed at preventing sexual and related violence. The program was conducted under the chairmanship of the District Social Welfare Officer, Mr. Minati Deo, and discussions were held on the key provisions of the Act and its effective implementation.
The training involved participation from Security Officer Pratimarani Das, Program Officer Shailaja Das, SDIPRO Debraj Takri, and District Coordinator Sankalp Hub, Divakar Paricha, who managed various phases of the training program.
As a resource person, Advocate Rabinarayan Satapathy provided guidance on filing complaints, FIRs, charge sheets, and judicial procedures, along with the legal relevance of different provisions of the Act.
Discussions also covered how victims are provided shelter, medical care, counseling, and legal assistance through units like the One-Stop Center, Shakti Sadan, Sankalp Hub, and related institutions.
Participants included Marriage Registration Officers, Women Police Station Officers, religious leaders from various institutions, teachers, staff of Shakti Sadan and Sankalp Hub, as well as students, all of whom actively participated in the program.
