Officials Emphasize Eradication of Child Marriage in Key Meeting

Nabarangpur, Feb, 27: A coordination meeting of the District Health Department and the Social Welfare Department was held at the Local Mission Shakti Sammilani Hall. The meeting focused on the health and nutrition of children and women in the district, along with related programs of the health and social welfare departments.

The meeting was chaired by District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain, who directed all stakeholders to cooperate in preventing child marriages. Families involved in child marriage were instructed to be reported immediately. Special attention was given to the remote areas of Tentulikunti and Jharigaon blocks, with official oversight of institutional deliveries.

To improve the effectiveness of the Take Home Ration nutrition program, the District Collector, Prakash Mishra, was instructed to conduct surprise inspections of Anganwadi centers. It was also stated that in cases of maternal deaths, departmental actions would be taken.
