Jeypore, Nov 25: A district-level training program on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 was organized in the conference hall of Koraput Sadbhavana Gruha.
The program began with the welcome speech of the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO). Afterwards, the resource persons provided a brief overview of various provisions related to domestic violence and discussed the key aspects of the Act.
The Protection Officer (PO-cum-PIO) highlighted the role and responsibilities of Protection Officers. Another resource person, an advocate, explained the legal sections, procedures, and provisions of the DV Act in detail.
The Police IIC described the challenges faced in delivering justice to women victims. The One Stop Centre (OSC) representative discussed several cases and their outcomes. Following this, the Superintendent of Shakti Sadan explained the services provided to victims by the institution.
Finally, the PO-cum-PIO Madam extended her vote of thanks to all participants, including the CDPO, GCRP, DHEW, Shakti Sadan staff, OSC staff, and other attendees.
