Officials Urge Nandahandi Residents to Take Advantage of Various Government Welfare Programmes and Public Services

Nandahandi, June 20: {UDN}:  On the occasion of the completion of two years of the Odisha State Government and twelve years of the Central Government, the “Bikashara Dhara, Odisha Sara” (Stream of Development Across Odisha) programme was inaugurated on Tuesday at Nandahandi and Raighar in Nabarangpur district. The programme will continue for seven days.
During the events, the dignitaries informed the public about various welfare schemes implemented by both the Central and State Governments. They explained how these schemes have contributed to the social and economic development of ordinary citizens and encouraged people to take full advantage of the benefits available under these programmes.

Programme at Nandahandi

The main event was held at the premises of the Nandahandi Panchayat Samiti. The chief guest was MLA Gaurishankar Majhi.

The programme was presided over by BDO Kshirod Chandra Sahu, while Bichitra Satpathy conducted the proceedings.
Various government departments set up awareness stalls to educate the public about government initiatives and services. Women’s groups displayed traditional cakes (pitha), indigenous food items, and locally produced products, showcasing the region’s cultural and economic strengths.
The Department of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes Welfare honoured students who had brought distinction through outstanding performance in the current academic year’s examinations.
In addition, awards and recognitions were presented to:
The best Anganwadi centres
Outstanding ASHA workers
Successful “Lakhpati Didis”
Progressive farmers
Social workers who had made notable contributions to society
The Nandahandi Tahasil administration distributed land ownership certificates (pattas) to beneficiaries for the construction of two permanent houses.
Representatives from ORMAS and APICOL/APCO-related agencies distributed informational leaflets highlighting various government schemes aimed at improving the livelihoods of farmers and women.
Programme at Raighar
At the Raighar event, the chief guest was School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister highlighted several welfare-oriented initiatives and development programmes undertaken by the Odisha Government. He elaborated on how these schemes are benefiting different sections of society and contributing to inclusive development.
On the occasion, every government department set up individual stalls within the block premises to spread awareness among citizens about the various services, benefits, and opportunities available under government schemes. The stalls served as information centres where people could learn about eligibility criteria, application procedures, and the advantages of different welfare programmes.
The week-long programme aims to increase public awareness, encourage participation in government initiatives, and ensure that the benefits of development schemes reach every eligible citizen.
