OSSTA Raises Key Service and Pay Concerns of Teachers

Cuttack:Feb, 18: The Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Association (OSSTA) has once again urged the government to resolve the various problems faced by secondary school teachers. The association’s general secretary informed that OSTA has placed several demands before the government.

These include release of grants for teachers and staff, provision of facilities for students such as books and uniforms, and extending pension, service benefits, and retirement benefits under the 1981 rules for teachers who have retired or are going to retire from newly aided schools.

The association has also demanded filling up vacant posts, implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), and early appointment of headmasters in vacant positions before the matriculation examination so that exam management can run smoothly.
The demands were jointly submitted by the association’s president, executive president, general secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, and other office bearers.
