Bhadrak, Oct 31 (UDN): A district-level PM-KISAN celebration was organised today to mark the release of the 24th instalment of financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
The programme was attended by the Additional District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, Chief District Agriculture Officer, senior scientists and the head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, along with other officials.
On the occasion, officials highlighted that the PM-KISAN scheme is an important initiative aimed at ensuring farmers’ welfare and promoting the overall development of the agricultural sector. They emphasised that the district administration and the Agriculture Department would extend all necessary assistance to ensure that the benefits of PM-KISAN and other farmer-welfare programmes reach every eligible beneficiary without difficulty.
Under the 24th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme, a total of 1,62,524 farmers in Bhadrak district have received financial assistance. Each eligible farmer has been provided ₹2,000, taking the total disbursement to ₹32,50,48,000 (₹32 crore 50 lakh 48 thousand).
The entire amount has been transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism, ensuring transparent and direct delivery of financial assistance to farmers.
The initiative is expected to provide financial support to farming families and further strengthen the government’s efforts towards farmers’ welfare and agricultural development.
