Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) celebrations are in full swing in Bhubaneswar, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing a gathering at Janata Maidan. The event has brought together a diverse group of attendees, including overseas Indians and local citizens, all celebrating the vibrant Indian diaspora.

A special highlight of the event was the visit to the Odisha Pavilion, where Prime Minister Modi explored a showcase that celebrated the state’s deep-rooted history, culture, and heritage. The pavilion beautifully presented Odisha’s journey, from the ancient stories of the Paika Rebellion to its recognition as a separate state. Alongside the historical display, visitors were treated to the state’s rich arts, crafts, literature, and traditional handlooms, illustrating Odisha’s cultural significance within India.
In a remarkable moment, President Droupadi Murmu also visited the Odisha Pavilion, where she expressed admiration for the diverse cultural exhibits on display. She was particularly impressed by the handloom products and the stories they told of the state’s vibrant traditions and heritage. The President’s visit underscored the importance of Odisha’s cultural contributions and highlighted its role as a significant cultural hub in the country.
This celebration not only acknowledged the contributions of the Indian diaspora but also served as a platform to showcase Odisha’s rich cultural legacy to the world, bringing much-deserved attention to the state’s artistic and historical treasures.
