PM Modi Inaugurates World’s Tallest Rail Bridge in Jammu & Kashmir

7th June 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River in Jammu & Kashmir, marking a major milestone in India’s infrastructure development. Standing 359 meters above the riverbed, the Chenab Bridge is taller than the Eiffel Tower and is part of the ambitious Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project.

PM Modi also visited the Anji Khad Bridge—India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge—and later addressed a public meeting in Katra. These landmark projects are set to greatly improve connectivity, boost tourism, and accelerate development in the region.

Describing the inauguration as a “journey to remember,” the Prime Minister highlighted how these developments would bring the people of Jammu & Kashmir closer to the rest of the country—both physically and economically.
