Raighar, March, 5: A preparatory meeting was held for the famous Maa Kalasi Thakurani Mandei Yatra, which is scheduled to take place this year in Raighar Block of Nabarangpur district. The meeting was organized at the premises of Maa Kalasi Thakurani Temple, with village head (Gauntia) Kamal Singh Rajput attending as the chief guest.
Among others present were Indal Gand, Bilusingh Rajput, Kiran Pattnaik, Sriram Sunani, along with all senior village heads (Sian Mukhua), priests, Shiraha, Nengi Patra, Dandasena, Gainta, Dhurua, Sampuria, Samarath, Dengurumundia, and intellectuals from Satpali village.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the income and expenditure of last year’s Mandei Yatra. On this occasion, by unanimous decision, a new management committee was formed to conduct this year’s Kalasi Mandei Puja and related rituals for the seven Satpali villages. Devendra Mishra was elected as President and Vice-President of the committee.
It was decided that the Maa Kalasi Thakurani Yatra and village procession will commence from March 24 this year. Furthermore, a four-day Mandei (fair) will be organized starting from March 31.
