
3rd December 2024: President Draupadi Murmu is set to embark on a five-day visit to her home state, Odisha, starting this Tuesday. She arrived at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport at 4:50 PM, where her trip officially began. From the airport, she traveled to Chandrashekharpur, where she will unveil the statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu at Neeladri Bihar. After this ceremony, she will spend the night at the Raj Bhavan.
On Wednesday, President Murmu will head to Puri. Her visit will begin with a trip to the Talabania Helipad at 9:45 AM, followed by her visit to the sacred Jagannath Temple to offer prayers. In the afternoon, she will attend the Navy Day celebrations at Puri’s Belabhumi, where she will participate as the chief guest.
On December 5, the President will inaugurate the new court complex in Bhubaneswar as the chief guest. Later, she will take part in the 40th convocation ceremony at the Utkal University of Technology (UYTE).
President Murmu will wrap up her tour with a visit to Mayurbhanj on December 6 and 7, where she will engage in several official and ceremonial programs. To ensure her safety during the visit, extensive security arrangements have been made by the Commissionerate Police, including the deployment of 40 platoons of forces. Additionally, a full rehearsal of the motorcade has been carried out along the routes of all event locations in Bhubaneswar.
This visit highlights the President’s strong ties to Odisha and her commitment to honoring important cultural, educational, and national events throughout the state.
