Bhubaneswar, July 14, 2025 – Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, arrived in Bhubaneswar this afternoon for a two-day official visit to Odisha. She landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport onboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft from New Delhi.
As part of her itinerary, President Murmu will attend a series of significant events in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. On the evening of July 14, she is scheduled to grace the 5th Convocation Ceremony of AIIMS Bhubaneswar as the Chief Guest.
On July 15, the President will participate in the 13th Convocation of Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, in the morning. Following this, she will lay the foundation stone for the development of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School.
Later in the day, she will visit Sarala Bhavan at Biju Patnaik Square in Tulasipur, Cuttack, where she will offer floral tributes at the statue of Adikabi Sarala Das. The President will also be the Chief Guest at the 600th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of the great poet, organized by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad, where she will confer the Kalinga Ratna Award 2024.
Tight Security Measures in Place
To ensure flawless arrangements during the President’s visit, the Commissionerate Police has implemented strict security measures across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. A detailed route rehearsal with the SPG (Special Protection Group) was conducted on Sunday.
Top officials, including DGP Y.B. Khurania, DG Fire Services Sudhanshu Sarangi, Commissioner of Police S. Debadatta Singh, Additional Commissioner Narsingha Bhol, and DCP Jagmohan Meena, are personally monitoring the arrangements to ensure everything proceeds smoothly.
The President is expected to return to New Delhi on the evening of July 15 after completing her official engagements.
