Process Set in Motion for Rajya Sabha Elections

Bhubaneswar,  Jan, 24:  The process for the Rajya Sabha elections has begun.
The Election Commission has sought proposals for the appointment of Returning Officers.
The Election Commission has written to the Chief Electoral Officers of 10 states, including Odisha.
In April, 37 seats from 10 states will fall vacant.
Maharashtra will have 7 seats vacant; Tamil Nadu and Bihar 6 each; and West Bengal 5 seats.
Assam will have 3 seats vacant; Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Haryana 2 seats each.
Odisha will have 4 seats vacant, and Himachal Pradesh will have 1 seat falling vacant.
