28th February 2025: The 9th National Summit on Public Health and Welfare was recently held in Puri, Odisha, organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The summit aimed to highlight innovative practices and strategies to improve public healthcare systems.
Inaugurated by Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, the event saw the participation of Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, State Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, and various health officials. This annual summit, which began in 2013, serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices across state and central health sectors.
The summit has become a key event in India’s effort to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure, with previous editions being held in various states. The last summit took place in Gujarat in 2022.
