About the Project
The Koraput–Singapore Road doubling project spans approximately 165 km. This route, surrounded by hills and mountains, connects Rayagada Junction with Koraput, Jeypore, and Jagdalpur. It also includes large-scale industrial points like Bamanijodi NALCO and Sunabeda HAL.
At Koraput Junction, this line links with the Kotavalasa–Kirandul (KK) line. Although primarily meant for freight transport, this route also accommodates many passenger trains. However, due to being a single-line track and prone to landslides, train operations are frequently affected. The addition of a second line is expected to resolve many of these issues significantly.
