Bhubaneswar, Oct 8, 2025 : Odisha is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall until October 11 due to the influence of cyclonic circulations over the Bay of Bengal, as per the latest weather updates.
According to meteorologist Surendranath Pasupalak, a cyclonic system that formed over the northern Bay on October 6 is expected to remain active until October 9. Another circulation is forming off the Andhra coast, and the two systems may combine by October 10 or 11, causing scattered rainfall, especially in coastal and southern districts like Ganjam, Gajapati, Khordha, and Puri.
Despite the absence of a new low-pressure system, changing wind patterns and residual monsoon activity are contributing to the rain. The southwest monsoon withdrawal, which began on September 27, remains slow.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) expects the weather to clear up from October 14, with dry conditions likely to prevail across the state.
