New Delhi, 20th February 2025: Rekha Gupta has officially been sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister today, marking a historic day for the city. After securing a significant victory in Shalimar Bagh, where she defeated her AAP rival by over 29,000 votes, Gupta returns the BJP to power in Delhi after 27 years.
At 50 years old, Gupta becomes the fourth woman to hold the position of Chief Minister in Delhi. She campaigned under the slogan “Kaam Hi Pehchaan” (Work is my Identity), emphasizing development and service to the people.
The swearing-in ceremony at Ramlila Maidan is set to be a grand occasion, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders in attendance. Gupta expressed her commitment to women’s empowerment and vowed to focus on Delhi’s growth and prosperity.
