Phulbani, July 20 [UDN}:: The 46th Foundation Day of the Rotary Club of Phulbani was celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur on Friday evening at the Gandhi Smruti Bhavan in Phulbani.
On the occasion, Additional Superintendent of Police Bibhuti Bhusan Mahapatra attended as the Chief Guest. He lauded the Rotary Club’s dedicated service to society and appreciated the commitment and selfless efforts of its members.
Among the distinguished guests were PDG Rotarian Indrajit Sahu and PDG Rotarian Yajnyashis Mahapatra, who praised the activities of the Rotary Club of Phulbani. They also advised members to work towards achieving the vision and objectives set for the current Rotary year by District Governor Anil Kumar Samal, a retired IAS officer.
Other dignitaries present included Zonal Chair Rotarian Satyakam Patnaik from Berhampur and Assistant Governor Rotarian Srikant Khatei from Nayagarh.
In the presence of the guests, outgoing Club President Prakash Kumar Panda and Secretary Biraja Prasad Nayak for the 2025–26 Rotary year formally handed over their responsibilities to incoming President Bijay Krishna Patnaik and Secretary Sunil Patnaik for the 2026–27 term.
The outgoing President and Secretary presented the annual report of the previous year. Incoming President Bijay Krishna Patnaik outlined the club’s proposed activities and service initiatives for the new Rotary year. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the new Secretary, Sunil Patnaik.
During the event, all former Presidents of the club, along with Rotarians from Bhubaneswar, Nayagarh, Bhanjanagar, and Berhampur, were felicitated. The programme was successfully conducted with the support of Rotarians Prasanna Panda, Vice President Rajesh Kumar Patra, Sanjit Patra, Upendra Mahapatra, Rupak Mohanty, Santosh Kumar Panda, and other club members.
